LankaBell Speed Upto 115Kbps??????

Its all about proper bandwidth sharing and management SLT, they have given thousands of internet connections from dedicated microwave lines to normal dialup but they only have 324Mbps backbone power, before the submarine cable crash it was hell much lesser value.
So I think the idea will be bandwidth sharing, but as I know there are ways to improve the capacity of wimax base station when user population grows.

I use Lankabell dial up.It gives 230.4 kbps so thats the fastest CDMA around.U have to buy the HUAWEI phone to get the internet facility.If u bought the ZTE one u have to change it.U can goto 21 kBps download rate with it.I do.
Internet connection will cost you 1750 rs one time free.
100 hours free permonth.Add min will cost 1rupee.Surf like us with LB.9pm-7am+public holidays+sundays 10 cents per min call charges.So for one hour 6 rs.U can surf all 100 hours with about 750 rs.
SLT doesnt have much bandwidth due to overissueing CDMA phones.In galle u cant even get a call @ night.They connect max @ 115.2 kbps.Rates and phone price is high.Service sucks.Rental high.
Suntel sucks being the slowest.There dialup is the crappiest one being 19.1kbps max.Too charges are very high even the service sucks.CDMA connects max @ 115.2kbps.Service is not good.Too much rules too.
Dialog GPRS is moderate but price is littlebit high.
BTW GTRZ ayya,U got an ADSL line?If then cheers...

Well malli lankabell shows 230k coz of that HUAWEI phone, its the connection between phone and the computer. Real connection speed around 153k, connect Suntel or SLT line with HUAWEI phone you can see 230k
Suntel 19.1kbps comes from that old fixed phone with big outdoor antenna. you can call them and upgrade to CDMA. Are you sure Suntel CDMA only has 115k? you on a HUAWEI device? Anyway as you mentioned its much more costly than Lankabell.
Dilaog GPRS is not even a comparable solution with CDMA. Its much more slower and will cost you like many times more.
I dont have ADSL yet hope they will give it in March

No way!!!! They have a 2Mx63x64 connection (SMW-4 cable) to the outside. And that's using only only 1 STM-64 channel. They have 13+2 (for standby) which are not carrying any data, because there isn't any traffic to carry in them (for future expansions). Remember, there is this SMW-3 cable too.

But the data network uses more bandwidth than voice network. Voice calls use very low bandwidth compared to data ne?

i am not sure if this can be applied to SLT, anyway lets think if you have a connection between two nodes @ 100M, but you have the connection to the 3rd node at 1M and after that same. So even if you have 100M connection between your area it'll not connect you to 3rd or further nodes @100M due to the bottleneck. So may be SLT dont have that huge connections to major bandwidth providers of the world.

I think this 324Mbps is just the total bandwidth in E1 links they are giving to corporate customers. It has nothing to do with the outside world IMO. This is for the SLT datacom network I think.
