i see it as a good thing. but still it should be governed the quality of education and the recognition of what you earn from there.

i don't get what you have told by, "PVT campus haduwoth salli tiyana ayage lamai doc, eng. la wei. habai duppath minissunge lamai vibaga pass unath kuli wada karanna wei. doc.eng. la wenna ona salli tiyana aya neme daksa aya!". as far as i know as a ratio there are more students from the middle class families compared to as what you called students from poor families in the gov. unis. even in the private institutes you mostly find the children from the middle class families. so i see this a very selfish and rude statement, coz you are hiding behind the poor people and stabbing that students who are eligible to earn some thing(educational wise). as you say, "every student who doesn't select for uni should end up in slavery". how fair is that ???

If he fails his 3rd try also he has no qualifications.

I am electrical engineering students in University of Moratuwa 3rd year and I do not come to elakiri with fake user names like some very Junior Members.
I really like private uni. Because I know I am ready to accept any challenge in my from any place from the world.
If you are really smart why do you treat others as threat? PVT universities reduce the competition for the uni entrance that makes chance to enter more students. Rich people will go to PVT unis via London ALs.
For jobs, I do not fear, best people will get jobs. Again if you are really smart why doyou treat others as threat?

Let the other people to get education some how. Do not let the money go abroad.

I am not jealous and I am not fear. Also not shopping for JVP. So I wellcome Private Universities. Poll shows the idea of community.

think of a guy who got 2a's and a "b" for a/l's doing in commerce stream, yet not enough to get into management or accountancy feilds. do you want that guy to get the manegerial qualification or do you want him to go for a lesser demanding feild? besides he might be more strategical than a student who has got 3"a"s when it comes to proffesion. if the local unis are too competative for that guy to get into for what he wants to do, what's wrong in for going to a private inst and earn that qualification. but in the way you say, that guy shouldn't be allowed to do above courses even though he's more suitable for that managerial possition rather than the 3"a" guy. that is jealousy.

Cheers mate... Even I am an engineer. I really like your attitude. I guess you know the importance of education.

I guess all the people who are against this Pvt Uni are not even in universities. They are just jealous that some one in this country will get an education.

Does not make sense at all. If a person with lesser marks has better skills to do a job, the selection criteria should be changed (here it is AL). Givig a degree to everybody will not resolve the problem. Then there will be competition among candidates for a job, and they'll resort to underhand tactics more, because now they have si,ilar qualifications, despite having lower skill levels.

I'm a BScEngineer from University of Peradeniya. I have no issue whats so ever with private universities. It will not matter who has what degree, in the end whoever is talented and smart will get the best prize.

People who protest against mostly are people from gvt universities. Student unions carry out varies campaigns against pvt universities. But don't think these bodies represent all the students in the universities. In fact in my opinion they represent only the ideas of a minority.
