Depends on your use.If you need a portable machine then go for a laptop.If you are just using it at home go for a desktop.

I agree with "OptiplexFx" But all the things depend on usage, before buy a computer think what you are going to do with that.. it mean if you are going to play game with your computer, you need good VGA and Good RAM capacity. otherwise if you going to do some programming or something else you need not a large VGA or Large RAM (ram depends on your application you going to use)

My advice is if you are going to put your computer batter choice is desktop with LSD 17" Monitor... I think don't look at the prices in sri lanka website or news papers, go to Unity plaza and get few quotation from many shop and compare with prices and choice your computer...
