not on the moon
HP / Compaq series Notebook laptops are good. (Im using one)

A fairly good laptop will be around 1-1.5 lacks.

But u can negotiate the prices by remving or adding partrs.

I can't remember the model, but there was one in the Oomph Magazine in the Sunday Observer about six weeks ago. It had a Core 2 Duo CPU, 1GB PC4200 (or 5300), GeforceGo 7400 256MB (or 512MB RAM) etc. for about 1.4 lakhs

This one will eat the HP PAVILION ZV6000 for dessert :D

Well, that's not a fast video chip - it's OK, but not FAST. Do you know ATI/AMD released the mobility x1900 yesterday. That's a fast card ;)

Besides, a good laptop or any other PC should strike a balance between the components. This setup is balanced imo.

Anyway, since Vista is around the corner, maybe you should wait for a Laptop that has Vista preinstalled. Vista is expensive to buy, so this way it will be more affordable because OEM license is generally cheaper.
