GlideTV Navigator, a mouse for control of HTPC with ease from your couch

An HTPC (Home Theater PC) is meant for you to get relaxed and watch the media on it. You’ll need to treat a HTPC like a traditional home theater system, which you’ll normally sit down on a couch, relaxed and enjoy the show.
But you may face some difficulty to navigate or control the media on a HTPC. Perhaps you could use a wireless keyboard for the control, but it will be pretty awkward to use and some more the keyboard simply takes up space.
The GlideTV Navigator, is mouse specially designed to solve the problem, allows the user to control the HTPC with ease from the couch. The device is actually a combination of a mouse, an AV remote control and a wireless keyboard, but it comes in palm-sized. It can be used as a mouse and with a couple of backlit buttons for various controls.
The GlideTV Navigator also works with various popular media applications including Windows Media Center, Boxee, Apple Front Row, Apple iTunes, SageTV, Firefox, and any web browser.

Buy a laptop or netbook? But don’t listen to the sales staff

Netbooks have eaten quite a lot of laptop market. As netbooks are simply much cheaper in price. But netbooks are meant for users who need a portable computer that is small and convenient enough to bring along anywhere you go, but only need the processing power that is sufficient for you to browse the web, reply emails and have some simple web chats.
Due to the laptop market has been bitten quite a big chunk by netbooks, the laptop makers now have a fight back. Laptop makers start offering laptops with much cheaper price, even some under 400 Euros and laptops are definitely providing processing power as good as what you can get with a desktop. If you need a portable computer that allows you to do almost similar what you can do with a desktop, then you should opt for a laptop instead of a netbook.
Anyway, when you’re about to stop by a computer shop, in the decision making stage whether to buy a netbook or a laptop, you’d better not listen to the sales staff of the shop, as they seem to fail to tell you what is good and bad about a laptop and netbook.

OLED lighting technology has made it possible for OLED lamps to offer greater flexibility. Here comes an OLED lamp concept by designer Johanna Schoemaker. This OLED lamp shines light like daylight and it offers lots of flexibility for you to have different lighting conditions to suit your need.
You can even program the lamp to dynamically change its lighting conditions. The lamp can change its colors, intensity, directions and wandering shadows to make the indoor artificial lighting to be more natural. Perhaps, there would be some health implication on the good side while you’re always exposed to indoor lighting that mimics closely to the natural light.

Dyson, the name that has always been associated with vacuum cleaners, now have come up with a revolutionized table fan that comes with no blades and friendly to the fingers of your children.
The Dyson bladeless fan is called Air Multiplier which takes table fan to a new level, able to keep you cool even it has no blades. How does it do that? Actually the Air Multiplier has blades in it, but they are hidden inside the lower canister. Dyson simply borrows the same concept of how a vacuum cleaner is setup to make this bladeless fan. The hidden blades produce air which will then get re-routed through the ring, which sounds like an amplifier for the air.

Since the Air Multiplier fan comes with no blades, it’s definitely one that families with kids should own which it can be much safer to the fingers of your kids. And some more it should produce less noise as no air-chopping. Dyson is asking for $300 for the 10-inch model of the Air Multiplier, and a 12-inch model costs $329.99. These are all you have to pay to ensure your kids’ fingers intact.

    wow :):)

Now iPhone is your car key!

Viper Smart Start application makes it possible for your iPhone to unlock, lock and start the engine of your car. The Viper Smart Start needs you to install a hardware module in your car, which costs you $300 and you can then use your iPhone like your car keys to perform activities including lock/unlock car doors and trunk, turn on and off the car alarm, turn on the heat for some pampering and even to start the engine of the car.
How amazing is that, iPhone has been made to act as various utilities in life. And one cool feature of the Viper Smart Start is, your iPhone and the module do not need to be in line of sight. The communication between the two are via the cellular network.
The Viper Smart Start app is free to be downloaded onto your iPhone. In order to get your car iPhone-ready, what you need is to invest $300 for the module to be installed in your car. Oops! I’ve missed something, the Viper Smart Start app is free for the first year only, and you’ll be charged for $30 yearly fee hereafter.

Web Video gateways at cheap price, stream web video to your TV

If you wanna watch web video (e.g YouTube) or PC media on your HDTV, you’ll have to get hold of a web video gateway. The recently announced Western Digital WD TV Live media server is one of the affordable web video gateways in the market. The WD TV Live media server costs only $150, which can stream Internet video and PC media to show on your television.

This kind of web video gateway is available at highly affordable price. A similar product, such as the Asus O!Play HDP-R1 HD media streamer costs only $100. Most of these little web video gateways do not come with on-board memory to keep their price low. But they do come with various outputs, including AV, HDMI, eSATA, USB 2.0, wired Ethernet or WiFi (may need WiFi dongle) and offer 1080p resolution support.
