Actress Upeksha Swarnamali, recognised and feted by fans for her courageous and sincere move in extending her support for General Fonseka, has been taken off the now famous teledrama “Paba” running on ITN. Reports say that since her appearance on the General’s stage at Homagama recently, plans have been under way to have her character removed from the popular teledrama which is an ITN production. Although viewers are said to have expressed their disappointment over the removal of the popular actress, sources confirm that ITN is standing by its decision.
An actor who also plays a role in the teledrama declined to be identified but claimed that Paba had picked up a viewership successfully competing with Indian teledrama serials and that will now be affected due to the popular actress being taken out.
