but your religion itself says that it's the NO1(only true) religion in the world.......(it's the only religion i have seen saying things like that......too much perfect i guess....and many muslims gets over confident by that, without even knowing about other religions)....so how can you say no..??

Because quran says so...:lol::lol:

You are quick to differentiate the actions of people and country and yet you blame Islam for the action of a few that go clearly against its teachings ! There is also no Single muslim country on the planet today.

Ok lets rewind back to your question.. let me break it down to you..

You asked..

So your saying srilanka should have just sit back and let LTTE occupy the lands and let them run riot and we could all keep forgiving them ?

Answer in Buddhism: YES, we should forgive them (because Buddhism doesn't allow violence)

Answer in Islam: NO we should fight back (because Islam allows it)

Sri Lanka's answer: YES, because Sri Lanka is not governed by Tripitaka or any laws that descend from it.. Sri Lanka is governed by a separate constitution!

What would be Saudi Arabia's answer? YES.. why because they adopt Sharia Law (God's Law) this is a direct connection to the Holy Book and Islam..

Now in conclusion on both occasions Islam's answer is FIGHT, but you get different answers from Buddhism.. that's the difference!

This is what I've been trying to point out.. in all my replies I have not blamed Islam on single isolated incident of an individual... if I have done so I've blamed Quran because Quran has allowed it! that's it!

According to budhism the more things you like the more you suffer ? So to not suffer at all you are not supposed to have desires at all ? That is incoherent with human nature completely ! Even babies have desires ! Not to mention , people dont suffer when their desires get fulfilled !

Further what about liking to do good things ! Then to want love is suffering ! To desire to spend your life with some one ,to desire to raise a fam , desire to get an education , desiree to do social good all means you will suffer!

While you are talking about all good things in life... also remember all good things will come to an end.. where sadness and suffering prevails..

Anyhow.. Buddhism doesn't say not to love, not to have a family etc. there are rules laid down for that too... that's why it's such a flexible religion... because you can have desires all you want.. but when you ready there's way defined for you, if you are not ready there's also a way defined.. when are you going to change is entirely upto you, nobody is forcing you.

But cannot deny that everything you do will have it's consequences, now that's the only things that's natural to this world.. cause and effect!

'If you dont really mind getting reincarnanet ?' So wheres the incentive or the consequence ? I can live however i want on this earth(even as hitler) cz i dont really mind getting re incarnated ! no punishment no nothing ! Cause - effect ? And besides thats not what i hear , budhists tell me you will get reincarnated as lesser beings if you live a bad life , like a dog or something. I will elaborate on this later below.....

I've answered this above.. If you dont want to commit to the path that Buddha says that you will get Nirvana, then he doesn't say you can live however you want... actually you can live however you want as long as you know there will be consequences, but Buddhism has laid down instructions for a good life..

Perfect example is the 5 precepts, which an ordinary man can commit to on a day to day basis... which in almost all Buddhist schools for an example is a ritual every morning..

If you want to go deeper then you have 8 precepts, then 10. etc.

You reap what you sow and if you have sown 'torture' 'torture' is what you get ! Torture is when people not deserving punishment are punished ! This is not the case !!! Where is your success rate higher than failiure !

'Marx BP, Miranda R Jr, Meyerson LA.

Department of Psychology, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater 74078, USA.
Abstract

A review of treatment studies with rapists suggests that the currently used cognitive-behavioral treatment strategies remain limited in their success'

Well.. earlier I've given you a link that says that there's over 90% of success rate from a certain program, here you are telling me that its not successful.. well then they should adopt the more successful program.. very simple!

Bottomline.. rehab has proven to be successful more often than not!

And what about the victim ? Why are her rights completely overlooked ? Your just telling her to swallow it up whilst the guy spends time in prison (which is luxury compared to where some of the culprits come from) and then go on to live normal lives ! As if nothing happened !

You think being in a 8"x10" cell is luxury?

Its upto to the victim if he.she has it to forgive them and God applauses such acts but thats her/her right and there is no wrong if they choose not to!

If god applause that then he knows it's the right thing to do... yet he encourage hate.. he will resort to violence upon victim's request, he actually doesn't have to.. he can instead make this all go away and restore everything back to normality.. but he wants to test us?

Again back to the same old questions here.. what does he gets from testing us?

Firstly this verse was not in perfect english to begin with ! Its transliterated ! Quran it is clear that stealing is haram and the plunder here is to take from in war times ! If not there will not be a follow up translation saying that 'who plunders conspicuosly is not of us' ! Plunder conspicuously meaning to 'steal' !

'to take the goods of by force (as in war)' - for example snatching away weapon of the enemy or enemy resources !

Ive answered that before ! Dont twist my words

 You are the one who's twisting words here...

The "plunders" verse is a different verse (38-4378) how come you merge that with war?, where in that verse says that you can refer to (38-4394) for the exact meaning?

But nevermind.. lets take your "merged" theory..

Even if it is enemy resources.. how come it's not stealing... technically it belongs to someone else.. you are taking it without that person's knowledge.. also how do you know for sure it's enemy's resources when you are taking.. has any rules laid down in Quran to back this verse? how to determine whether or not it's enemy's resources?

What if the resources are in enemy territory but belongs to innocent civilians?

I already have and in my next post let me elaborate on the many more!

God has given free will for us to worship Him out of choice and given us Quran and sent us messengers and prophets with reminders and signs for us ! The intuition towards God is innate within every human , and after all this if we still deny the existence of God altogether or give the mantle to something else (stones , man , fire) then we cannot expect forgiveness from someone we have denied the existence of in the first place ! or deemed unworthy of worship (for whatever reason we may have denied it cultural, egotistical) etc ! Yet God has revealed to us that the reward for those who deny Him (non muslims) will be in this world only !

So the conclusion is he has given free will to do anything except to deny him?

So its not as free as we think... more like a gimmick..

In conclusion god's free will is not 100% free!

hehe you say no Mysterious Almighty , but yeah this 'mystical fault of earth karma' is very there ! According to this 'cause effect force of karma' if a child is born deformed its because karma has kicked in and the child is born deformed because he was a terrible sinner in the previous life ! This child might grow up to never remember his past life (almost always the case) !

I've said in this forum before many times.. I'm telling you now.. I DO NOT KNOW how after life Karma exactly works! Nobody knows... but there are facets of Karma in day to day life that is undeniable, when I say Karma dont just jump into mystical forces..

Karma is cause and effect we that everyday every second of our lives... I can only think of after live Karma as a projection of everyday Karma in your next life!

Secondly by budhist principles he should be looked at as a severe sinner in the past life

From which Buddhist Principal you took this from.. mind showing me?

so are we to be compassionate to a deformed child who might potentially be a reincarnated prabhakaran or hittler? and if such compassion is shown to a sinner in the afterlife , im sure hittler and saddam have no regrets ! (deformed child is an example, it can be anything a tree a dog )

Also want to touch up concept of 'nothingness' and prayer

So what if its Hilter or Praba? you recommend chopping off his limbs according to Islam?

What are YOU saying here ? when the day comes that sun would rise from the other side, and quran proved to be true word of God and God exists and God has made all that happen , it is not impossible for God to resurrect mankid ! Your in contradiction , what your saying is 'if an omnipotent all powerful almighty God that muslims beleive in does exist and the predictions do come true and its HE who made all that happen ' then there must be limits to His Power !

You are right.. I don't know whether to think god is omnipotent or not... till you answer this question in my previous reply here.. (BTW you have not commented on that reply #784 yet)

This was my question..

Ok so god created us to worship him... what does GOD get out of that?

He had the power to create anything in this universe including the universe itself.... I mean literally everything.. then why he created us and make us worship him? for fun?

If not for fun he must have some reason why we should worship him, he must be getting something of our prayers... perhaps something that he cannot create all by himself?

But could that be? because he suppose to be able to create anything and everything...

The Sun prostrates when it reaches the Throne, yet in our scientific observation, the Sun is never seen to prostrate to any Throne. Instead, it is observed to be orbiting the center of our galaxy at a speed of about 800,000 kilometers per hour. The reason for our inability to observe the prostration of the Sun is that the Throne lies in the Unseen (the Gha'ib). The laws of physics hold true only in the physical universe (the Seen). The laws of the metaphysical universe (the Unseen) are known only to Almighty God or to whom He gives special sanction. It is not for us to speculate on the Unseen. Note also the following Qur’anic verses:

Referring to the highlighted parts of your comment, yes.. in our scientific observations sun doesn't seem to prostrate.. that's what I was saying..

But if you say the rest is unknown to us and only god knows.. then we have nothing to talk here  because we only can talk about things we know of and things which are proved to be true..(yes that includes reincarnation too) if for every question your answer is "only god knows" then no point talking really

Firstly you say the Quran and then quote the Hadith.Im sure you know the difference. In Islam there is the physical universe and the metaphysical ! You would say the same if i were to ask you where these 'little gods and beings lesser than humans' are. The phrase, “It goes (i.e. travels)” cannot be forced to mean that it travels around a fixed earth. Such an inference can be made if the words had been, “It goes on around the earth”. In the hadith, however, the phrase “It goes” simply means that it goes on in whatever orbit has been assigned to it.

If it were only the sun which was moving in a fixed direction, the verse which follows this statement would not have proclaimed that the sun and the moon strictly maintain their mutual distance; they will never be able to gain or move away from each other, an unchangeable destiny till their appointed time. This clearly shows that in whatever direction the sun is moving, the moon is also moving.

But it is not only the question of the sun and the moon. All the heavenly bodies are described in the Quran as soundlessly floating !

Firstly, this doesn't answer the question of how night outstrip the day and wise versa in some places of earth contrary to what Quran states!

Secondly, the question Prophet is asking is "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" here he himself refers to the sun rise and sun set, not sun orbiting the centre of the galaxy, had he meant that that... then he still is wrong because sun's own orbit has got nothing to do with sun setting and sun rising, sun never sets or rise from anywhere!

If you take earth here it refers to the earth layer we live in (as in ground). for example from hadith Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 54 :: Hadith 418

Narrated Salim's father:

The Prophet said, "Any person who takes a piece of land unjustly will sink down the seven earths on the Day of Resurrection."

It has been proven recently that there are seven layers beneath the Earth.

This is interesting..

In verse 65:12 it says Allah created 7 heavens and 7 of the earth like thereof..

Now Prophet has mentioned that as a punishment you could end up beneath the earth, then surely the 7 layers must be hell or equivalent.. then how come this is not specified in 65:12 for example "Allah created 7 heavens and 7 hells"? what's the reason to specifically mention heavens and leave out "hell"?

You could also argue since its not mentioned.... it could be 7 other planets, or it could also be 7 other heavens beneath the ground... (but then that contradicts the Prophet's statement all together)

Besides 'even' if you take it for 7 planets , how is it wrong ? NASA only last year 'revoked' pluto as a planet so their standardisation process is varying in itself and this is mentioned in the Quran even before NASA existed !!!

Oh! Please dude.. these are elementary level stuff..

  1. Mercury
  2. Venus
  3. Earth
  4. Mars
  5. Jupiter
  6. Saturn
  7. Uranus
  8. Neptune
Now how many without Pluto?

Even if it is 7 without Pluto, you are still wrong because they took Pluto out only as a outer planet and re-categorized it as a dwarf planet.. yet it is still there and still a planet of some sort.. and there are 4 more dwarf planets..

So the planet count is 13

Haha 'thos who have the right mindset' in your definition who have already formed a biased verdict against the Quran and those who affirm the scientic authenticity of it are all beserk even if they are esteem men of science like the list i sent you before. I can accept if you say people try to overlap science and quran if it is even 10 or 15 instances and by nature they are prone to be mistake but there are NUMEROUS scientific facts in Quran which have only recently been discovered and proved true and even if you claim they have been put together by muhammed (pbuh) and had already been discovered by scientists before , there is no way such a number of them of them were combined without a single mistake and conveyed in such eloquent poetic language ! (this apart from the predictions that have coem true and historical accuracy)

This is a good joke!

Do you know who is Aristarchus?

Aristarchus was Greek astronomer who presented Heliocentrism, in short he is the one who said that "Earth and planets revolve around the Sun".. and guess what.. this was presented some 800 years before Mohommad revealed this...

So it could be only 2 possibilities here..

1. God's revealed Aristarchus the Solar System before Mohommad, then how come he isn't mentioned in the Quran? then also Quran is not really a revelation!

2. Prophet plagiarised the work of the Greek

You choose...

Lame analogy ! Well my point is , religion or way of life shouldnt be to a person like what a 'ferrari is' ! something that only 1 in a million people get to own ! The right thing to do shouldnt be that impossible to achieve ! Ive also given social ,personal and security advantages previously ! Again having this principle in place is like carrying a slogan that says ' go ahead rape , murder , steal, we have rehab ' does not work !

Core rules of good and bad cannot be changed to suit whatever we want, we must understand good and bad and change ourselves, my analogy still stands..no matter what you say, my talk here is about people who can afford a "Ferrari", if you cannot... don't blame the Ferrari.. work hard till you can afford it!!!

Lets not forget the majority of the monks that backed the war ! Thank goodness they did ! Well because they fought back they still have the culture the country the heritage the dignity and life ! They fought back so they are not suffering ! If they didnt, then they wouldve been opprssed by the LTTE removed from their land and thrown into streets ! That is called suffering and not middle path !

to be cont... work !!

Yes they backed the WAR, but ask them... what Buddha would have done if he was born in Sri Lanka.. monks supporting the war doesn't reflect that Buddhism allows it.. because it doesn't!

I can give examples too.. what did Dalai Lama said to his fellow Tibetans when Chinese invaded their territory?

The Dalai Lama appealed for calm in Tibet, saying: "Don't commit violence, it is not good. Violence is against human nature, violence is almost suicide. Even if 1,000 Tibetans sacrifice their lives, it will not help.

"We should not develop anti-Chinese feelings. We must live together side by side."

- Al Jazeera

Though far east Buddhism differs from ours core concepts still remain the same!

YES! according to Buddhism its the same Karma (karma is cause and effect), according to Buddhism its the "fault" nature of earth caused the effect of a Tsunami that killed those children and infants... no mysterious almighty here...

P.S: I was expecting an answer to this in my previous reply... why Allah doesn't even allow dis-believers to talk on judgement day..

Besides what about the children and infants . if they were born human in this world that means they must have had a life of goodness in the previous life , only to perish again as an infant child ? karma ?? And what if some reincarnated sinner in the 'lesser' form of a dog gets washed away too , punishment cut short !?

How to prove Zakir Naik is a BULLSHITTER?

Here's the video I was talking about.. have a look from 5.30

    @6.00 he says..

If Allah wanted us to only have vegetables, why did he also gave us pointy teeth?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKM9xYfD2XM

Here are skulls of few herbivorous animals in the wild.. please note the teeth structure carefully!

    Pygmy Hippo

    220px-Pygmy_Hippopotamus_Skull.jpg

    Flying Fox (a.k.a Fruit Bat)

    Pteropus_skull.jpg

Aren't those canine teeth on the side or what? as clear as you like..

Now we ask the question back from this Motta Naik according to his own theory..

WHAT'S THE CASE HERE? WHY DID ALLAH GAVE CANINE TEETH TO HERBIVORES?
