Linux and MicroTek scanmaker 3800

Anyone using a MicroTek scanmaker 3800 with Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 or Mint 17) ?

xsane or simple scan does not detect it.
The scanner is detected as a USB device, but is not recognized as a scanner.
Sane says unsupported.

Anyone got this particular scanner working in Linux by using any modification or hack ?

Did u get a MicroTek scanmaker 3800 to work under linux?

For the moment I borrowed a cannon lide 110 and works without any issue with Xsane.

Interesting project, Planing to try out when some free time is available.
