That happens when they don't know the exact meaning of them. So, to avoid the confusion, I thought of putting up this thread with the meanings of few common internet sang wordz.

ROFL or ROTFL - roll(ing) on the floor laughing
LMAO - laughing my as* off
lal or lawl — A pseudo-pronunciation of LOL, or the German translation. Saying "lawl" is sometimes meant in mockery of those who use the term LOL, and not meant as serious usage.
lolz, lulz — a corruption of LOL, plural form of lol occasionally used in its place.
mdr — French version of the expression LOL, from the initials of "mort de rire" that roughly translated means "dying laughing".
555 — The Thai variation of LOL. '5' in Thai is pronounced as "ha", three of them being "hahaha".
asg — Swedish abbreviation of the term "Asgarv", meaning intensive laughter.
g — Danish abbreviation of the word "griner", which means "laughing" in Danish
OMG - Oh my God
OMFG - Oh! My Fu***g God
WTF - What the Fu**
ROFLMAO - Rolling On the Floor Laughing My As* Off
noob or n00b - noob is derived from the word 'new' it implies that you are inexperienced, sometimes it is used as slang for 'you suck'
XD - An internet expression that will hopefully replace LOL as the laughing symbol.
