These days life is lived at a hectic pace, and try as you might there is little in the way of relaxation, or rather there was - until now. In this six CD set, there is the ultimate in relaxation music. Forget your whalesong, what you need is this. Just put this on in the evening - or indeed any time you want to put your feet up - and let yourself be whisked away, as I was, to a land where things are done at a more leisurely pace. There is a mixture here of some cool soul, smooth jazz, and even some music bordering on the religious (but not quite), to bring your pulse rate down. The Mediaeval Baebes regale us with those soaring voices and Barrington Pheloung reminds us that Inspector Morse was hardly hurried, as his theme illustrates. Celtic music, choral music, and even some electronic sounds courtesy of The Penquin Café Orchestra and Tangerine Dream serve to sooth the fevered brow. There's even some more mainstream artists such as Sinead O'Connor, Talk Talk and Roxy Music, Spandau Ballet and Feargal Sharkey. So it can be done - this is better than the mythical chill pill.

François wrote and composed "Comme d'habitude", the original version of "My Way" and "Parce que je t'aime mon enfant", the original version of "My Boy". Some of his most famous songs are "Le lundi au soleil", "Magnolias for Ever" and "Alexandrie Alexandra". François sold some 70 million records during his career[/b] (and after his death) and was about to embark for the U.S. when he accidentally electrocuted himself in March 1978 at age 39.Former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing is quoted as saying Claude François was, to him, the equivalent of The Beatles.

Alice Cooper is an American shock rock singer, songwriter, and musician whose career spans five decades. Alice Cooper is known for his social and witty persona offstage; The Rolling Stone Album Guide has called him the world's most "beloved heavy metal entertainer". Cooper is credited with helping to shape the sound and look of heavy metal. Away from music, Cooper is a film actor, a golfing celebrity, a restaurateur and, since 2004, a popular radio DJ with his classic rock show Nights with Alice Cooper.
