Seven aircrafts destroyed in Anuradhapura. US $ 25 million damage

(LeN, 2007 October 06, 1.45 PM) The damage caused by the LTTE air and ground dual attack on the Anuradhapura Air Base this morning has been guessed a staggering US $ 25 million, the highest loss in the Sri Lanka Air Force history.

Unconfirmed reports say that the damaged fleet includes a Rs. 2.5 billion beach craft which can be airborne for a long time.

The damaged fleet, according to sources, contains one beach craft, one Bell helicopter, two MI-24 assault helicopters, one MI-17 transport helicopter, one K-8 training aircraft and a Cessna light aircraft.

But lot of are quite old.
So these will be replace by new one models
