Pasolini's pic, about an ingenious group of slum dwelling Sri Lankans who pretend to be the national handball team in order to get a visa to enter Germany, will now receive support by the Europa Cinemas exhibitors. The long-gestating "Machan," an early Lido fave, is an Urania Studio of Italy production, co-produced with Babelsberg Film, in association with Shakthi Film. Prasanna Vithanage is the producer.  </blockquote>
