MR invites NZ Premier for semi-final
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has extended an invitation to New Zealand Prime Minister John Key to witness the world cup cricket semi-final encounter between Sri Lanka and New Zealand at the R. Premadasa Stadium, in Colombo next Tuesday, the President’s Office said.
Sri Lanka defeated England by 10 wickets to reach the World Cup semi-finals against New Zealand, at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Openers Upul Tharanga scored 102 and T.M. Dilshan got 108 as Sri Lanka finished with 231 in 39.3 . England totaled 229-6, with Jonathan Trott scoring 86.
The next semi-final between Pakistan and India will be played on Wednesday in Mohali. The final is April 2 in Mumbai.
