Mahindadananda O/L exam failed... is it required?

It was revealed in the parliament that Mahindadananda Aluthgamage was failed the O/L Exam and he said "I am not ashamed...". He must have meant it. Why should he?
I also think that to be a politician educational qualification is not a requirement. Uneducated may be better for tooday's political culture for less conscious one is more he is qualified to develop.... himself and people who support him.

Politcions are chosen by a majority of voters (probably by a lot mostly who are uneducated). Ability to gain most votes is the only requirement. Once the votes are counted, the one who has most votes is legally appointed. He can be a teacher, scholar, businessman, monk, priest, murderer, robber, rapist, gang leader, ...anybody...any nobody can become even the president if he can get votes. Then he would choose his type of candidates. Sometimes with some leaders special types of candidates are more in demand.... From D.S. Senanayake to Mahinda it had been so.

I think his lack of Education cause no problem for any of the posts...
Those posts are held by people who can get most votes.
Wimal can do that. He says he got Mahinda won.
People don't care what he does to get votes...
if he get votes people will trust him,
respect him
and do anything for him.
He is qualified for the posts.
But it seems that no one thinks he is good for finance.
perhaps they may have lost trust because
he failed to unplug from World bank.
Govt did but inflation went so high.
