Police say a New York man mowed down his girlfriend with his wife's car, then wound up critically injured in another crash five hours later.
The man was allegedly driving his wife's Honda Pilot Saturday when he struck the woman outside the bar where they both work, reports the New York Daily News.
Police say the man fled the scene and left her half-naked and bleeding in the street, then wrecked the SUV five hours later when he flipped it. He was rushed to hospital, where his wife came to see him and found out about the affair.
"He's my husband. He's not supposed to be cheating," Rosa Estevez, 37, told the newspaper. She said her relationship with him is over, and the only thing they share now is their daughter.
The girlfriend, whose name has not been released, remains in hospital with severe trauma.
Ricaury Pena, 28, is charged with assault, vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated.
