    Digital Retouching and Compositing: Photographers' Guide
    Publisher: Course Technology | Author(s): David D. Busch | ISBN:
    1932094199 | Release Date: 31 January 2003 | 21.1 MB | Pages: 368 | PDF

    Written from a photographer?s point of view, "Digital Retouching and Compositing: Photographers? Guide" solves every snap-shooter?s real-life problems painlessly. It distills complex topics down to a few pages of explanation and easy steps so users can quickly and dramatically change the way photos look.

    About the Author
    On December 30, 2006, David D. Busch had an unprecedented 11 different books ranked in the Top 100 of Amazon.com’s Digital Photography Best Seller list. These included four books in the Top 12 (#7: Mastering Digital SLR Photography; #8: Nikon D200 Digital Field Guide; #9: Digital SLR Cameras and Photography for Dummies; #12 Nikon D50 Digital Field Guide.) He had five more books ranked in the Top 50, and two ranked between 50-100.

    When Michael Carr of About.com named the top five digital photography books for beginners, the #1 and #2 choices were his Course Technology book Mastering Digital Photography, and Digital Photography All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies. Busch has combined writing and photography his entire career. A former newspaper photographer, he was invited to move to Rochester, N.Y. to work on the Eastman Kodak Company account, writing several thousand articles for leading photography magazines such as The Rangefinder, The Professional Photographer, and Petersen’s PhotoGraphic. He also operated his own commercial studio and photo lab and was a sports photographer/sports information director for a Rochester college.

    Four years later, he became a traveling photojournalist, visiting 48 of the 50 states and several foreign countries in a 20-year span, writing articles illustrated with his photographs. For the past 15 years Busch has concentrated on books and magazine articles (for publications like Popular Photography & Imaging), with a special emphasis on imaging topics. He has reviewed digital cameras for CNet Networks and Computer Shopper, in 1990 wrote one of the first books on scanners and in 1995 authored one of the earliest books on digital photography (Digital Photography, MIS Press, 1995.) Two of the 98 books Busch has written since 1983 earned “Best Book” honors at the Computer Press Awards.

    Mastering Digital SLR Photography
    David D. Busch | ISBN 1592006051 | PDF | 7.9MB

    Currently with no other book on digital SLR photography, photo enthusiasts have had to rely on books that concentrate only on aspects of the technology that are peripherally related to picture-taking. This book uniquely concentrates on creative techniques for the digital SLR photographer. Photography with Digital SLR and ?SLR-like? cameras isn?t exactly like conventional film SLR photography; nor is it exactly like digital photography with non-SLR cameras. DSLRs have special advantages, special features, and special problems that need to be addressed and embraced. In addition, users of these cameras tend to expect more from their photography and crave the kind of information that will let them wring every ounce of creativity out of their equipment. Anyone who has a Windows PC or Macintosh and a digital SLR camera will find advanced techniques in this book. Readers will cover various aspects of DSLRs including: why DSLRs work best for creative posing for group and individual portraits, using DSLRs to capture close-up scenes on the desktop using the digital camera?s special capabilities, how to get great travel photos with a DSLR, and how to archive them when far from a computer.

    Ted LoCascio, Mastering Photoshop CS3 for Print Design and Production
    Sybex | ISBN: 0470114576 | July 17, 2007 | 573 pages | PDF | 38 MB

    “ Unlike the early days of Photoshop, for several years now most Photoshop books have been aimed at photographers; there is a big hole on the bookstore shelf that needs to be filled by a Photoshop book that is geared specifically towards graphic design professionals and production artists. This core audience should not have to wade through useless chapters of content geared towards other users of the application, namely professional photographers, web designers, and video editors.
    Mastering Photoshop for Print Design and Production sets graphic designers and production artists in the right direction when implementing the latest version of Photoshop into their everyday workflow. It demonstrates how to use Photoshop for all aspects of print, from simpler tasks such as basic color correction and masking, to more advanced tasks such as color management, utilizing layer comps, and troubleshooting and automating RGB-to-CMYK color conversion.
    Entirely four-color throughout, Mastering Photoshop for Print Design and Production fulfills the promise of the Mastering series, to provide real-world skills to professionals and students. Like all Mastering books, this one includes:

    * A "by pros for pros" approach: The author is an active professional working in graphic arts, layout, and design, writing for professionals who want to improve their skills or learn new skills.
    * Real-world examples: Running throughout the text are examples of how the various skills are applied in scenarios faced by real practitioners.
    * Skill-based teaching and hands-on exercises.
    * Companion files for tutorials and projects are provided on the accompanying CD-ROM.
