I am not trying to justify what he did. But what made him so angry to hit her. Is it because that a sterilized instrument was placed on a non sterile area? Just a thought.

if he's flying off the handle in a situation like this I wonder what kind of damage he could inadvertently do to one of his patients

But a doctor is a professional and his behaviour like this should not be tolerated. They have to be role models to other medical staff.

This is the same reason why developed countries screen medical students with psychometric tools other than examination marks, where as in Sri Lanka any psychiatric patient can do medicine if pass A/L.
