they give free copies to studentsthere are lot of free services in MS.. they give windows copies to students without any fee hotmail has very big customer base than gmail, live messenger far better than gtalk , MySpace
in student's point of view yes that is great but it's not entirely true. Institutes are paying some money for those....
live messenger does have many features than gtalk but it's not far better than gtalk. live messenger is good when u r using it in a network u can transfer files easily through network for me that's the only advantage
