Linux and Apple are more and more better than MS. Linux has high security and lot of helpers available bcus Source codes are freely available. Linux red hat and fedora is 100% acts as Windows and it's user friendly too. MS copied linux in there vista and windows 7 OSs.
If MS never release there source codes they face huge trouble very soon. Because hackers and virus generators they always try to hack and damage MS OS

ya,,,sure...Windows XP is MS's superb OS. So they trying to develop OS better than XP by using good features of it,Speed would be the great fact...

If you talking about memory issue in every 32bit OS then yes WinXP 64bit supports even 16GB as i remember.

again windows 7's opponent is winXP they are making win7 better than XP to make the people who like XP to change their minds...If they really make win7 faster than XP then MS will not stay in business for much long because if the end product is so GOOD that it ROX then people will hang on to it and never buy anything the thing happening with XP is that - its better for almost everything
Linux just keeps spreading as usual even im using linux most of the time when im not gaming for gaming its windows and nothing else

any one saw that PC mag (or other mag nt 100%sure)interview with Bill gates? the reporter asked why M$ don't taking any serious legal actions against pirated copies in countries like China, and india.

Bill gates said, " let them use it, let them get used to it. let them get addict. then we will get the revenge"

and in the XPs drowing board, they focus their minds and even took the psychological sup.. (have a doubt.. try google) .. thats y most of us addict to XPs interface and couldn't switched for vista even

BSA thing is a silent before the storm. If the storm got in to the visual contact. its TOO LATE..

You can make similar interface with linux without getting sued. But the hardware,software compatibility and user community are the biggest things you can't beat in windows.

The guy next door use MS Word and Windows the guy in Antarctic use the same. Almost every hardware has windows drivers and most of them detects automatically. So much compatibility and so many people to talk and share.

thats y they introduce boot camp.. and use intel chips for their PCS and notebooks

boot camp mean more expansion for Windows. Now they can run on Mac too. From Apples side they can sell more machines. People like to buy them coz they are beautiful. Now they can run their favorite Windows in them too. So Windows in a Nice machine Apple can sell more machines but it will not really expand Mac OS userbase.

If you check Mac forums most of them have Win XP running on their machines with OS X.

About legal action yes Apple take very serious legal actions.. way better than Microsoft. They wanna sell machines and their hardware for premium price. Thats where they earn money. So they dont want others to run only their software.
Apple actually selling same PC hardware for very high prices with nice looking bodies. But their designing skills are great!

agreed .. the windows get their way. and we (FOSS) got our unique, slow. and silent way..
but in the near future m$ have to do a gr8 fight against their own products.. (already vista vs XP )

until now they made a fascist way. among their products and custermers..... but today.. what IF their customers need democracy?

The prob is Vista is too much for todayz hardware. So people finds it difficult to switch. In the other hand Vista has no good reasons to switch.

But in Windows 7 point of view it has features which will make people switch and much low hardware requirements too.

Linux or Mac or what ever you need good reasons to make people switch. In my opinion most people don't care open source or close source or what ever. They don't even know whats inside. They want something which will run faster and do things easily. That's all. They even like to pay some price for that.

I see Mac has some few good reason to make people switch. But from Linux point of view still not much for normal PC users.

thats smply called social addiction. that couze they Germany to follow Hitler. France to follow Napoleon. today world follow bill gates.. m$its marketing tech is the gr8est one i hv ever seen (after sakvithi)

with the compatibility thing.. the venders are still afrad to face a new chalange.. thats the prob. but slowly. REALLY SLOWLY HW venders lyk. sony, IBM, huawie, HP (totally) support linux or get supported by hackers (i mean the developers).. lets HOPE.. we cann't expect a NORMANDY attack.. but we can see a viatkong..

In the other hand.. when its started to make their softs for intel x86 .. considarable amount of ppl have installed.it with their IBM PCs. its a geeks stuff. but its spreading as a virus . even i'm willing to have a mac OC in my PC. and i'm currently working on it

mm their no 1 policy.. "their SWs should run on their own Hws.. buts its changing... 1 step was the i tunes. then the intel chip.. and little by little they will also capture a larg potion from m$s market.. Vista, XP or 7 still all Microsoft. They really don't need you to switch the OS to earn some money. They are many other ways they can earn money from you very easily without even switching the OS.

how about the netbooks... all the benchmarks said the Win 7 is a old wolkwagon at almost all the netbooks.. even the vista runs only with higher end NBs... but the linux?
