Why is this agreement between sl-gov. & ms gonna be over? I can agree that MS is mission to make us addicted for their product after read this. I'm intersting in using linux as once I said u in another of yours. But I'm afraid to do. I heard there is a way run on windows as a normal software. If u can please give me more information.

you can run

• dual boot. run windows and ubuntu in same PC

• run windows natively in linux using virtual Box (i'm doing it) (you can work with windows as a normal soft in linux.
• Run Linux nativly in Windows. you can install linux (ubuntu is better in this way) in the windows. (every ubuntu CD hv the option, but can't get the full perfomances)

I heard abt it from one of gayan's threads. But I really don't know much abt linux coz I've not used a linux platform for years. I hope wine is a sort of emulator like PS2, N64... emulators. Can any just-released windows application be run on a linux platform?

Wine is not an emu..it's a wrapper for windows apps...btw u can even play COD4..etc..search on utube for videos...and even office 2007

Can pirated copies of games can be played easily played on linux with wine? How does linux treat copy-protected CDs?

no prob.. its not a prob.. but some crackers want run. so its better to have a noncracked or searialed one.. in COD i installed it in another win PC and copied the serial. but it want be a problem. couz almost all the games got a searial/ CD key system.

copy protect means ? DATA/ song/ Games? wht kinda thing?

many diskprotecter systems want work with linux
