This is a reply for the post (http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243015) made by this new era abiling....

the heading of “Modern Dewadaththa....”

Rev Dr. Malcolm Ranjith, is the 9th Archbishop of Sri Lanka. Having studied in 7 international
universities, he is able to articulate a total of 7 languages which are; Sinhala, English, Tamil, German,
French, Italian, Spanish, Indonesian Bhasa. Before been installed as the 09th Archbishop of Sri Lanka,
he was the Secretary General for the Congregation of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the
Sacraments, Vatican.

On the 17th of September 2009, there was an article that was published in a popular web forum which
included a heading as the “Modern Dewadaththa....” This of course directly accused Rev Dr. Malcolm
Ranjith as a traitor of the motherland, for celebrating a Holy Mass under the theme of “Dead Sri
Lanka”. However, this article does involve an author and is not referenced. There are 3 images in this
article. The first image shows a group of people with terrorist flags and photos. In the second image
there is a striped black and white flag and next to it is the Sri Lankan flag. The last image displays Rev.
Dr. Malcolm Ranjith celebrating the Holy Eucharist in Madhu Shrine. In the sequence of images it is
obviously visible that the striped black and white flag that is under the Altar is doctored. The original
image displays an Italian flag.

Furthermore, the author of this article strives to emphasize that the terrorist loyalists too participate in
such events by providing the viewer with the first image.

The publisher of this article has also mentioned that “you can’t lie to a picture... it sayz thousand words...” However, with today's technology pictures can easily mislead people. Hence, a professional article should always be referenced, since it is a must in order to show the credibility of the information provided. But, in this instance Ovalprasad has failed to produce reference. According to his profile details he is a hardware technician. And I’m sure that Rev. Dr. Ranjith will forgive these uneducated people for their unprofessional accusations.

I challenge the author and Ovalprasad to produce the original images if my argument is incorrect. I can produce the original image of the second image which was doctored on request.

machan, there are several religions and few more races in SL. and machan, mostly hindu tamils and buddhist sinhalese are involved in this war problem.... and others haven made any kind of big noticible waves related to this war yet.

as i believe, machan there could be some people trying to drag those non involved group of people such as muslims to this problem. in their own ways to aid themselves in the situation.

so we have to be very careful about those things..

that was my reply in the previous thread.

We always should be very careful when we responding to non verified information. specially those sensitive infomation which could lead us to unwanted problem among sri lankans... there could be sick people trying to make troubles, we should be careful.

hehe! u hv misunderstood what i said. I was talking about the origin of this problem. there are so many national heros who arent buddhists and sinhaleese. but about the problem, it was mainly agaisnt sinhaleese by a terrorist organization. they killed buddhist monks, they attacked number of buddhist temples etc... and also the internet terrorism is also targeted at sinhaleese mainly.

  • Well explained.., At the first instance when I saw the previous thread I was pretty sure that the article was a fake one. now it's confirmed.

Also hereinafter when someone post anything controversial, try to be more responsible and try and not to be fooled by the so called patriots' patriotic articles and their reports.

It's a good lesson for all of us.

Thank you for your time... :)

lol.. i just saw that some one has reduced my reputation points in this thread after you quote my reply but before i reply to this question..

dude, if you have some probs in understanding what others are saying, u got to understand your own problem.. and then give yourself some space before acting....

in this matter, you have been completely misunderstood what i have said, and look at what you have said here?

its sometimes funny thing to see few people who are not capable of following what others saying are going mad and making hell of noise while others who have understood stay calm and quite.
