Sri Lanka's Immigration and Emigration Authorities have withdrawn the residential visa issued to Dr. Rama Mani, Executive Director of the International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES), Colombo and ordered her to leave Sri Lanka before Thursday Feb.7.
This follows her unwarranted interference in Sri Lanka's national security matters as revealed in a CID report forwarded to the Government.
An attempt made by a former government official, who closely associated with the LTTE, to prevent Dr. Mani – an Indian National now a French citizen – from being ordered to leave the country has failed.
Unless she leaves the island on Feb. 7 as ordered she will be deported, Emigration authorities said.
The CID has probed a conspiracy by the ICES to pave the way for a United Nations Peace Keeping Force to land in Sri Lanka under the R2P (Right to Protect) concept alleging that Tamils are being massacred in this country.
An appeal by Dr. Mani for an extension of her visa has been rejected.
