Hard drive coolers are an important but oft-overlooked component in a properly built system. Hard drive coolers are great for any always-on/server computers as well as any computer which experiences a lot of hard drive usage.

A PCI slot fan is perfect for cases with limited space for traditional case fans. PCI fans are great for evacuating more air from your case for better cooling. In addition, our PCI fans work well with our VGA coolers, so if you need more VGA cooling

If you have 3 or 4 hard drives, then the surrounding air will get warm and this is when you need a hard disk cooler (more precisely a fan sucking in cool air from outside, at the front of the case)

I don't think so. Do you feel them running too hot? I also have two HDDs and I use my PC longer than you do I suppose.

Anyway, it's a compromise between the noise and the coolness. If you can take more noise, then it's better to keep the HDDs cool, nevertheless. If I add anymore fans, the noise level will increase. That's why I'm a bit hesitant.

But with the stock HSF for Pentium D, I don't think you will notice any added noise from fans. BTW, you can run those fans at 7V to keep down the noise and reduce suction of dust particle into the case. :)
