The party office and a luxury vehicle belonging to UPFA MP Duminda Silva were put to the torch by a mob at Kollonawa a short while ago, police said.
They said the mob was believed to be supporters of the murdered former MP Bhartaha Lakshman Premachandra.
Meanwhile tension was running high in the Kollonawa area as additional soldiers and commandos from the elite Special Task Force (STF) positioned in the area while a dusk to dawn police curfew has been imposed in the region.
