The Central Bank’s Resolution and Enforcement Department launched a probe into the MTFE Sri Lanka Group as the operations of this trading platform fall under the pyramid schemes system, which is prohibited in Sri Lanka⁴.
In summary, FTX faced bankruptcy due to financial mismanagement while MTFE collapsed due to being a Ponzi scheme. These are two different reasons for financial troubles.
