With India’s tour of Sri Lanka looming large, it’s Lankan Spin wizard Muthiah Muralitharan who takes on Sachin Tendulkar. Speaking exclusively to TIMES NOW’s Harini Rana, Murali said that he won’t let the master blaster overtake Brian Lara’s record of being the top Test run getter. Sachin Tendulkar is just 171 runs short from achieving this feat.
Harini: Any plans to stop Sachin Tendulkar from achieving that feat?
Murali: Everyone is asking the same question. There is no specific plan but I will try my best and bowl well. If everything goes my way we can stop him.
Harini: What do you think about the young team India?
Murali: They have the talent and in the last 6-7months they have been performing well. Everyone is supporting them and they have more talent after the IPL. They have found more cricketers which would help them in the future.
Harini: Who are the couple of players who have impressed you from young team India?
Murali: Specially in IPL, Yusuf Pathan impressed me with the way he batted and approached his game. Other than that, Raina who did really well.
Harini: Do you think you have an added advantage since you have shared the dressing room with Mahendra Singh Dhoni?
Murali: Everyone will think that they will have advantage. Like that few advantages and disadvantages are there.
