The below is an e-mail which I sent to Dish TV Lanka regarding low Audio/Video Quality of the local channels.

To whom it may concern,
I recently bought a Dish TV Lanka MPEG4 STB connection with the intention of watching local channels which would eliminate the hassle of configuring a terrestrial antenna. Apart from the local channels, there are no any attractive channel lineup available on your service at the moment. Hence, Dish TV is only useful for watching local channels.
However, the first impression which I got from the service was negative. The reason would be the very low picture quality of the Sri Lankan channels. Obviously, we can identify that you are downlinking the signals using normal VHF/UHF antenna and then uplink to your satellite which we receive.
However, some of the channels have a very low picture quality which is almost like watching them on a normal antenna.
The above is just one example of the service. The rest of line up is somewhat better on the picture quality. However, it’s not even near to your major competitor, Dialog TV.
Also, the audio quality of the channels is the worst part of all. It is not configured properly and we don’t hear a single thing properly. The highlighted issue is common for the all local TV channels on your platform.
Hence, I kindly request you take appropriate actions to the above issue and improve the overall quality of your service in order to retain your position on the Sri Lankan market. At the end, we, subscribers; pay a rent for nothing.
