Namal Rajapaksa to play for Kandy

The eldest son of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal is billed to don the Kandy jersey this season.
Namal a sturdily built Number Eight who is presently studying in the United Kingdom is expected in the island by June for his holidays.

The former S. Thomas’ and Sri Lanka Schools skipper has expressed his interest to be part of the champion club outfit at the Clifford Cup.

Kandy has responded positively to the request and informal discussions according to Senior Vice President of Kandy Iswan Omar had taken place during the Singer Sri Lankan Sevens last year, where Namal was a spectator.
