Nalaka Swarnathilake of Swarnavahini, who produced and directed " Dangamalla Saha Amuthu Iskole" in an interview with the "Artscope", said, "When it comes to the subject of Sri Lankan children's culture, there is a tremendous shortfall in the creations for children.

The only renowned name that we know for several years in the field of drama for children is Somalatha Subasinghe. When I was at Lakhanda Radio a few years ago, I did a school program based on the same plot and for it I received a good response from listeners. The comments encouraged me to produce "Dangamalla Saha Amuthu Iskole".

"Enid Blyton is an author who writes for children. All children around the world admire her books and there are so many things that we can learn through her creations.

Especially the Sri Lankan teachers and those who are involved in the education field can learn many important facts.

No stage play has been made so far here for children based on world literature. At present, there are no suitable productions for children," he said. "The Naughtiest Girl in the School" was translated into Sinhala by Ganga Niroshani Suduwelikanda.

The naughtiest school girl later becomes a clever student by studying at Whiteleaf School.

The play has accommodated a large number of school children in the cast. Twelve students, both girls and boys, of leading schools in Colombo perform in the play.

The main role of the play is performed by Nathasha Perera who won the Best Child Actress Award at the State Children's Drama Festival in 2003. Nathasha became popular with the song "Sulagak Wee Man Enawa Dura Ahase Avidinnata", a duet she sang with popular singer Edward Jayakody.

The play also won the Best Production Award at the State Children's Drama Festival in 2003 as well.
