i have connected 8 computers for a switch.i have to connect 4 more computers .so there is another 8 port switch.i need to communicate all 12 computers . my prob is how to connect 2 switches??(two 8 port swiches) is there any configurations to be done ??

just tell me what kind of system do u have i mean domain environment or workgroup
and what kind of switch type u have

Can't you hook up the two switches??With the same network subnet?Switches are layer2 thus transparent so can be able to hook up them.In theory at least.

a workgroup / just two normal 8 port swiches

so you don't need any configuration just try to connect this two swiches using patch cable

Just connect two Switches with a cross cable or crossover adapter then configure the network in normal way.

If both switches support automatic crossover (Auto MDI/MDI-X) then no need for cross cable or adapter. You can connect with a normal straight cable too.

hey buddy, download "packet tracer" then install it and see if you can do the configuration there in the simulator.
