I'm talking in general.. not only Milton.. besides.. ya'll have to understand that if we behave so irresponsibly by the time when Sri Lanka's Internet usage reach over 50% definitely our artists will be bankrupt!!!

They will only have to sell their celebrity status and Live performances!!! They will either stop producing music, or will copy from existing music to cover costs or government will be pushed to act to the law by the letter.. where half of this forum will get prosecuted and Elakiri.com will be in trouble..

Do you wanna go through all this or you wanna buy a CD for 500/= which will support the artists?

As for Milton, Does he get paid? NO.. because he's dead.. but I'm sure his family must have sold the record rights to a producing company, so indirectly his family benefits!!!

machan sri_lion i totally agree with u .. thanks for the explanation. but i really dont think v r doing any halm to the artist by getting 2-3 songs downloaded fm the net. if somebody is posting the total album then its against the law ... correct me if im wrong

Well... I'm glad you understood the situation,

Lets take this forum as an example, there's 58000+ members here, even if 1 member circulate 1 track of a single artist, they can share tracks worth a life time, that artist has produced.. And Sri Lankans are a very small community it spreads very fast.. and Internet can only make it faster!!!

Machang.. we are not like US artist, our artist doesn't make billions of dollars and neither they are celebrities all over the world.. and the consistant target crowd for our artists would be 19 million people MAXIMUM!!!

So think about it... its our responsibility to protect what's ours!!! Only Sri Lankans can help Sri Lankan music, no one else will care!!!
