We have many examples, some videos we uploaded with elakiri.com watermark still distributed by some well known sites. So how you think without watermark?

Anyway there is a solution for this, it will be DRM encrypted WMA files.
So song will be in Windows Media Format. You can play it in windows media player but will not work on other sites, can't write to audio CDs, can't mix or do anything with it. Just play! and when you give the song to your friend he also have to atleast once log in to elakiri and download the license from elakiri to his windows media player. So guys do you like that system?

There's no actual fool proof method. Even with your method my dear GTRZ, you can capture the sound tracks with a recording program like soundForge or Nero Wave Editor.
It's bit silly to think that ElaKiri has the greatest collection of songs. I have a samll collection by standards but I have up to 2500 sinhala songs in mp3. And Sinhala songpage has 12500 online streamed songs (Streamed ones also can be captured). The problem is they are posted and downloaded in great numbers when they are posted to forums. And I personally think that a person who download it from Elakiri and upload it in his/her site is a fool when they have a lot of other sources which are not watermarked. (I use Elakiri becaause I am a loyal follower of it) They can buy a CD with 100 mp3s for 100 Rs. Watermarking is always annoying. If you watermark it at end they'll just chop it off with a sound editor. I don't know a way to stop this, but since you are the big boss it's up to you to decide

you guys are putting some original songs thats songs are really good. we can get from internet with out charges. we wanna really aprishate that. but problem is you water mark, for videos and djs its not problem, but for original trcks its a problem ne.

Wal bada> As you said recording from DRM track will not make original quality audio. You will need to have really good sound card with really good signal to noise ratio and with high specs. well you will feel like original coz you playing it on the computer or normal home audio systems. But you check close there are different and lacks some highs and lows. Not really accurate sound. But i know normal person playing it on home stereos or surround systems will not really notice that since they don’t have the original track.

Solutions:-
1. What we gonna do is we’ll try to minimize the effect from the shoutout, by making it more weaker sound and blending it to the music. But you know then it’ll take lot of time to listen to the song and find good places to mix it with and adjusting the db rate etc.. anyway we’ll try to do it if we get some free time.
We can't give it without shutouts bcos then artists will never give us any new tracks, record companies will start to get action against us. If we give it fully original track then it'll be lot of problems guys please understand that!

2. We gonna add digital Watermark to the file so you can't listen to that but when you put the track in some program it'll tell that it has the watermark or not. Even if you copy, remix, turn to other formats still that watermark there! But you will never hear that! Thats sounds really good solution right?

Ok we have to strike a balance. I think GTRZ is right in above idea. Well, we have to keep the ElaKiri identity and Keep the listners less annoyed. Since you are a computer guru I wanted to ask whether it's possible to make the ID4 tags read only?? Then we could put ElaKiri to appear on Lyrics window,or in the property bar

Hay I’m NOT a computer guru, just personally interested on these stuff that’s all, anyway as I know there is no ID4 tags, its ID3 Version 2.4 tags, anyway they can be edited too.
Other thing many players still don’t support them.

Lets say we'll get some new ID tag version which is read only then simply import the track to sound forge or such editing software -> sa as new file. Nothing loosed same digital audio but as a new track.

Then we'll keep two copies of the song. One will be with the traditional watermark. Other will be a streamed version, for people who hate to hear the water mark. This copy is not down loadable. I think that will solve the problem. But there will be people capturing the tracks, but as you said the quality will not be the same.

(Yes. its not ID4 but ID3 version 2 tags)
