Jothi might have sang somewhere around 100 songs that were copys of indian songs.... and the other thing is that, he never wrote his lyrics..... most of his indian songs were written by Hemasiri Halpita..... as far as the rest goes, they were pure Sri Lankan talent.... Karunarathne Abeysekara wrote most of his early songs.... and Ajantha Ranasinghe wrote most of his big hits during the last period of his life..... he was the only singer who can sing any style of a song... and he was mentioned the " best singer that ever lived in Sri Lanka " by Pandith Amaradeva at his funeral, and according to his book, that was released couple of years back... Amaradeva mentions the speech, and still stands by his comments.....</p></blockquote><p></p>
