Buying is not enough... We have to learn how to protect them without destroying them in an pointless manner like in An'pura.

We won't get anything for free nuh...

So buying heavy artillery / military weapons means more wight on the middle class people.

So far I haven't seen anything like that except for Mangala & UNP ousted retaliation, For me UNP = LTTE, how ever they never able to convince it, just allegation:angry: Until recent attack we were able to succeed against LTTE & u have to sacrifice & have to except more devastation when u fight against suicide terrorists:yes:

im not either unp or slpp but im pointing to the whole governments which ruled sri lanka...but macho one thing we are ready to sacrifice as long as we can keep a hope but if we are just mis leaded every day why we should let it happen......in sri maha bodhi attack how many people died..you were not even born I think ....at the ceylon bank attack how many civilians died how much property damaged....so bro if you feel like we are in the correct path i don't feel so.....if u you think its the way ...it should happen like this when you get up after a long sleep people must have forgotten every thing happened...but we do remember bro.......blood sheds every where......property damages every where....there is nothing you can gain via war ....:( :(

The problem is that some countries do not want to sell their new tech for countries like SL, simply because we usually look credit lines, that's why we get em from India for instance, Those toy light aircrafts cannot be identifies unless we have sophisticated Radar systems simply because their flying hight is very low unlike other planes:yes:

Ok, lets say we want to come to negotiation table, LTTE wanna have their own army, police & everything which categorize as a whole new country & also they wanna the strip where we found Oil, Who wanna sacrifice that for bunch of wild killers:angry:

Yes, That's all about it... People doesn't feel it now. Becoz they are thrilled by the news. Since the government is hiding the Money factor behind it, people think, wow... now they will kick the LTTE asses etc.

But just see... How much taxes a normal person pay....
And how much is a liter of Petrol, a loaf of bread, a packet of milk powder, cement etc...

Those are almost the same as what we pay in Australia. (Petrol price is exact the same) whereas we earn 10 - 20 times more than a normal middle class Sri Lankan person.

So the most important thing to do is save the resources we have. We should have protected those destroyed air crafts man.. shit!

After they are destroyed, now we are buying used damaged air crafts from other countries once again. How to pay them... ???

Print money in Sri Lanka and buy them. That's the only option. Then how about inflation in few years time.. hence how would be the economy... ?? Man thats bit scary even to think about...

I heard SL banks pay about 18% - 20% interest on fixed deposits. So after the maturity how could the banks pay them back to the people.... Scary huh..

We should wipe off LTTE from the surface. That's true.

But the GOSL should think in depth about the consequences after the war.

(Anyway... there are many intelligent people in the cabinet. So they must be having a plan... Who am I haha)

Please get this right, u guys never understand this, SL got nothing to do with these price hikes, as far as i know they have given all the subsidies to normal ple!

Petrol: Kill the American trades in NY, London & Singapore coz they decide the price, recent hike is due to unrest in Turkey & Irak

Bread: Due to drought in Aus & Europe, get use to rice flour

Milk: Once agin drought in Australia who controls 30% of world exports, Get use to damn fresh milk , AS we do here, why dnt u wanna drink fresh milk:angry:

Cement: Reason becasue we import all the raw meterials, now what we have to do is get the asses off the chair & work by chopping our damn holidays & so call poya days

    That was not my point...

With all those expenses, still SL people are paying high amounts as taxes...

And you can't blame just the foreign countries for those pricing strategies. SL should be able to negotiate with the suppliers to control the price.
Or else they have to introduce proper alternatives for them.

As a person in Australia I hope you are drinking milk. Is it milk powder....? Nope.

Do we eat bread a lot like we used to eat in SL. Nope...

Why..? Coz there are alternate options.

Agree with the rest of your comment. Damn too much holidays in SL.

War is the best way to get the votes. ;)

And the most important thing is, No Guerrilla war has been finished just by War !

We have to break them and destroy them as much as possible by a battle then we should definitely discuss to finish this war. Note the word discuss... It's not negotiation. ;)

Weak the enemy where there are no alternative way for them other than surrendering.

Or else.... hmmm... The best alternative to win the war is creating as much as possible Karunas.

Internal breakdowns would be devastating irrespective of the party.
So it is the best thing we could do... if we can.

Let's see... I've seen some goodness in Mahinda's strategy though. Let's see what he'll do.

For me, fresh milk is more convenient than the milk powder anyway :D :D :D

Yes... that's what I'm saying... GOSL should encourage the people to follow the alternatives and to provide more alternatives.
