When you go to Dialog or SLT sites they do not talk about FUP. Similarly there could be other conditions in small text.

Thats how you think.

What you talk is top line. dialog Top line is 120 Billion. It they have Sales cost, Operational Cost, Finance cost and all these costs. Look at their books and see how much debt they have. Their Gearing rations. Their profits are less than 10 billion per year after such a massive investment.

I have done auditing in four Telcos in Sri Lanka and hence cannot reveal more information due to confidentiality.

Last five years SLT group has invested over 150 billion. Dialog Group 175 Billion. Do you think they can run a blackmarket with super profits with this much of investments? Dialog is surviving because they have about 10 million prepaid voice users and those voice calls are the ones highly priced and used by poor workers. All operators are bleeding with Data. Thats the bitter truth.

This is just like Toyyo and Bayyo. If some one talks against what you talk, he becomes your enemy. Thats the way most Sri Lankans behave.

My argument is for any business to provide better service they need to have reasonable returns. Otherwise the industry will be stalled. Look at the railway. We always dream about a quality railway.
Telecommunications is the only service industry that's going with the world. We have Fiber, 4G and now they are trying for 5G.

If those companies doesn't make money sooner it will be another railway.

If they have covered the whole island with 5G technology, no benefit for the customers with 36GB of monthly data bundle
Main problem here is TRCSL is not allow for any other competitor to come here and beat these fu*** companies. I can't believe why you're getting only their side. According to your point in this thread, Selling one gigabyte for 100 rupees and dropping internet bandwidth to 64Kbps from 100Mbps when that fu*** limit reached is absolutely fine?

In this market conditions, my opinion is to reduce no of operators by allowing Airtel to surge with Dialog or Mobitel and Lankabell to Merge with SLT or Dialog BB.

There is one guy asking for a license non other than Alirajah or Licatel. Do you like him to control Telco sector?

If not for a balanced strategy for customer andinvestors, I once again say Telecoms in Sri Lanka will be another Railway with outdated technologies in one decade.
