NISSAN NOTE E-POWER (INSPECTION & VALUATION)
Not a Pure Electric Car & Not a Hybrid,The Note e-Power is what the industry calls a “series hybrid” which means, for all intents and purposes, this car is an electric car in that it runs on an electric motor which drives the front wheels. But it also has a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine that acts solely as a generator to charge the batteries. The engine does not drive the wheels in any way,

So if I carry a generator in the trunk of a Nissan leaf does that make it an "e-note"?

Just carrying a generator won't do what it's expected to do:P

Well the original e-note comes with the generator plugged in from the factory, Leaf to e-note conversion would have to be plugged to the generator manually :D

According to Nissan, the Note e-Power has a theoretical range of 1300 km between trips to the fuel station, meaning it can achieve as little as 2.9L/100km from its 47 litre fuel tank.

    :baffled:

Nissan claimed an average fuel economy of 2.9L/100km. With my time with the Note e-Power, I averaged 5L/100km. Considering I wasn’t trying to drive economically, it’s not too bad. Most of the driving was done on a long distance motorway stint. Long distance motorway driving is not its forte. Petrol engine remained on for most of it to keep powering the motors over the long distance. But the fact it can do it is a plus, especially on a 1000km drive giving me no range anxiety. This is important for when Nissan e-Power makes it to NZ.

20kmpl... There are pure ICE cars that can achieve a similar fuel economy without having to worry about a hybrid system that could cost a bomb if something goes wrong or a hybrid battery that loses its capacity over time and will need a replacement anyway

I'm saying that apart from its 8-second 0-100 acceleration, buying one of these doesn't make sense if its higher maintenance costs are not negated by the fuel savings

Did I really recommend a car to someone who was looking for an SUV? Doesn't sound like me. Either it didn't happen or I was drunk; can you quote that post?

    රෙකමන්ඩ් කරා නෙමේ "මට ඒකට වඩා මේක හොදයි "කීව වගේ,

Okay, first of all, we were discussing the merits of SUVs and Cars, not makes or models there. Just wanted to know the reason for someone to buy a bona fide SUV like the Pajero if he doesn't travel on unpaved roads that require an SUV.

Here I've quoted a fuel economy figure and commented on a fuel economy aspect.

Personal preference is not something we can do a discussion about when someone doesn't have any reason for that particular preference other than saying "it's my personal preference".
