This is to inform you that the 3G network shutdown in Sri Lanka is under consideration by the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) and Dialog intends to re-allocate the spectrum resources to upgrade the 4G network to provide you with a better network experience .
Upon discontinuation, any 3G device remaining in the network will connect only to the 2G network , and will experience slow data speeds. Voice and SMS services will continue to function without interruption.
Therefore we kindly request you to review your communication solutions/devices and take necessary action to upgrade the solutions that are currently functioning under the 3G network. The 3G devices that will be affected are Mobile Phones, Tablets, Dongles, POS machines, and IoT devices.
Further if any of your 4G compatible devices are having a 3G SIM , such connections also will be connected only to 2G network. We have provided the facility to upgrade the 3G SIMs to 4G compatible SIMs free of charge.
