Hell yeah !!! Intel sucks when comes to gaming If you are a Gamer ASUS is the way to go.

Yeah! and ASUS has a great OC-ability too!!

You can see evidence in the SuperPI thread where 6 out of the top 10 are ASUS Motherboards!!

A good Intel chipset (P35, X38 ) based mobo...Asus P5K series would be good for your pocket as well as performance
Don't go with 2GB. Aim for 4GB...(2GBx2 I mean)
A 8800GT or the new 8800GTS...
