(Lanka-e-News, September 19, 2008, 4.12 PM) 'Lanka-e-News' learns that a group from UNP reform agitators and Sri Lanka Freedom Party People's Wing (SLFP-PW) has pleaded from Gamini Aberathna alias Taxi Abe not to expose the details of funding LTTE and dispatching some military equipment to Kilinochchi for LTTE's use during the tenure of Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe's premiership.
MPs Johnston Fernando, Thalatha Athukorala, Mangala Samaraweera, Western provincial Councilor Sujeewa Senasinghe and Tiran Alles who were returning from the courts where a complaint against Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe regarding contempt of court was heard made this appeal from Taxi Abe at the Deli France cafeteria of Odel shopping complex in Town Hall over a cup of tea.
Taxi Abe was summoned to Deli France by a member of UNP reform group to make this appeal, Lanka-e-News learns. Mangala Samaraweera and Tiran Alles have participated in this meeting on Mr. Wickramasinghe's request.
When the group asked to avoid exposing secrets regarding party funds and Mr. Wickramasinghe, Mr. Aberathna insisted that he should expose the facts since Mr. Wickramasinghe is fasely acting and destroying the party. However, Taxi Abe has finally agreed to keep his mouth shut for the time being.
As soon as the discussion was over, Mr. Sujeewa Senasinghe returned to Cambridge Terrace office of Mr. Wickramasinghe and reported him the proceedings of the dialogue.
Lanka-e-News first reported the news under the heading 'Taxi Abe' to expose LTTE -UNP secret deals' on September 17. It is reported that Mr. Aberathna had received a number of calls threatening him after this news.
UNP was ready to publish articles against Mr. Aberathna in two newspapers published by one pro UNP company. However, those were suspended publishing after yesterday's discussion. The editor of the newspaper who is now abroad has informed the editorial not to publish them over the phone.
