Office 2007 on Ubuntu!

But I only mentioned my experience,, I didn't check it well, there are 99% chance to be I'm wrong,,,, But Its only my exp,,, I didn't try to prove that "NO WAY,, MY DECISION IS THE BEST"" no i didn't,, If my post meaning it,, SORRY GuYS mmmm ..

no u tell ur experience i tell mine then u decide whats better free hama ekama hoda na always go for C/C++ and i'd even recon .NET and VB6 made apps on top of java man it lags one nam website wala athi benchmarks gihin balana C/C++ compilers natively support almost all the OS API operations(they make the programs run faster, functions that deal with memory can be dealt with directly thru kernel by using these) but a java developer cant access these because java apps run on their virtual machine which deals with everythin that the developer has written directly and then passes to kernel thats where things become slow

Well machan im not a computer geek. But i can do almost everything MS Office does by Open Office, yet at no price....So for me it is better and worth... Same goes with windows and Linux too....

yea at that level there are no complains for open office the thing is that pirate copies are too available freely still so i still use MS office i have ubuntu too windows tiyan inawa gaming walata

and also as i know.. The java is not so community developed and not a Free ( i mean not the price) software.. Its source codes was released about 1year ago, So you can't blame to all the FOSS, with only this,,,,

and also, in linux we use C and C++ also... Not based on the JAVA, Java is not a main language (check out ubuntu or any linux distro)

I am using Vista, but it doesn't have anything to do with Open Office being slow! It was slower in Ubuntu LOL.

Of course the Core components of the OS can't be high level, like Java. High Level languages are too slow.

No dubt office is improved that the open one, couz its a commercial software, Not community developed and Its highly targetting the BEST SELLING Perfomencese..

thats the reason, and thats the disadvantage of the FOSS also...
