Now, let me explain this BLUE BOX project and how it fits into the Ebbetts
catalogue..
The Ebbetts catalogue has always offered both the MOBILE FIDELITY and
ORIGINAL UK STEREO versions of the British titles. Indeed, up until now, the audio used in each of these sets were identical. The only thing that differentiated, for example, the MFSL version of "Please Please Me" from the standard UK issue of the same title in the Ebbetts catalogue was the Artwork. Otherwise, the two were identical. That will now change.
Starting today, the MFSL audio masters will stay exactly as they have been, sourced from the actual MFSL vinyl releases. However, the standard UK stereo issues, complete with the original artwork, will slowly be phased in to have the BLUE BOX transfers used as their source material. To many, the MFSL CDs are the best sounding releases around ... but to others, they are too bright with a bit too much EQ on either end of the spectrum, as applied by the geniuses who master these things. To many, the BLUE BOX releases are smoother and more natural sounding and better represent the Beatles recorded work. That’s up to you, of course, but over the next few months, the BLUE BOX will stand to represent the original stereo UK titles.
These new BLUE BOX releases replicate with FAR MORE accuracy, the
artwork of the original releases, right down to the EMITEX logo on the back. Many of you have older version of the artwork and will need these. Even if you do have the new artwork, the audio is brand new.

Quote : (click to expand/collapse)
Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, Olympic Sound Studios, De Lane Lea and
Chappell Recording Studios, London, England between November 24, 1966
and November 7, 1967. The first six songs on Magical Mystery Tour were the
soundtrack to the Beatles' TV movie of the same name. The film was an
experimental mess, but the experimental pop of the album included some of
their most memorable productions. The soundtrack side was dominated by
Paul McCartney pop tunes, including the bittersweet piano ballad "Fool On
The Hill" and "Your Mother Should Know," an impossibly catchy bit of
Vaudevillian pop. But it also featured George Harrison's mystical "Blue Jay
Way" (about his house in Hollywood) and John Lennon's "I Am The Walrus,"
which wedded a stream-of-consciousness lyric to a fierce drum beat, layers
of strings, odd voices and some dialogue from Shakespeare's "King Lear."
McCartney's "Hello Goodbye," which led off the assorted singles, featured
some neatly arranged contrapuntal vocals, and may well have been about
the dissolving partnerships (songwriting and otherwise) between McCartney
and Lennon. Lennon's strangely arranged "Strawberry Fields Forever,"
whose two halves blend different takes of the same song, one slowed down
to match the pitch of the other, was a trippy reverie; its bridges,
orchestrated with horns, cellos, and backward cymbals, are sheer brilliance.
"Penny Lane," a wistful fantasy featuring a beautiful trumpet solo, was
McCartney at his melodic best, the AM foil to Lennon's FM headiness. EMI.
2005.

The original concept for the film project called for the documentary to end with a live show, the first live public performance by the band since the end of their last tour, on August 29, 1966, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. However, agreeing on a format for the live show proved problematic. Paul McCartney suggested playing a small club, like the Beatles had in the early days. John Lennon suggested an overseas location such as Africa (although he also expressed a sarcastic desire to perform the show in an asylum). Ringo Starr held out for staying home in England. George Harrison showed little enthusiasm for any live performance at all.
After failing to agree on any other venue, the band settled for an unannounced concert atop their own building, Apple's headquarters in Savile Row near Piccadilly Circus. The Beatles, accompanied by Preston, performed on January 30, 1969 — intercut in the film with interviews of some rather surprised Londoners near the Apple headquarters as the music blasts out from the roof. The performance and the film close with the police arriving and shutting the concert down. The rooftop concert has been a popular bootleg ever since, and was to be the final public performance by the Beatles.
The Beatles played five songs during the rooftop performance: "Get Back" (three times), "Don't Let Me Down" (twice), "I've Got a Feeling" (twice), "One After 909", and "Dig a Pony". (The Beatles also played a brief version of the British national anthem, "God Save the Queen" and a brief rehearsal of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" while second engineer Alan Parsons was changing tapes. Those performances were omitted from the film.) [4]
After the final song, McCartney says, "Thanks, Mo!" acknowledging the enthusiastic applause and cheering from Maureen Starkey. Then Lennon closes with his well-known remark, "I'd like to say 'thank you' on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audition!"[4] This exchange was spliced on to the end of the Let It Be album.
