You told them, didn’t you? , He knows it, doesn’t he? , She is coming tomorrow, isn’t she? ආදී වශයෙන් එහිදී question tags භාවිතා වෙනවා.ලංකාවේ ඉංග්‍රීසි බස ඉතා හොඳින් දත් අය පවා බොහෝ දෙනෙක් සාමාන්‍ය ජීවිතයේදී මේ no එක පාවිච්චි කරනවා. ලිඛිත භාෂාවේ (written language) හැරුණු විට ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්මතය අපේ රටේ අනුගමනය කෙරෙන්නේ ව්දේශිකයෙකු හා කතා කිරීමේදී හෝ වැදගත් සභාවක් ඉදිරියේ - එසේ නැතිනම් රූපවාහිණියේ - කතා කිරීම වැනි විධිමත් අවස්ථාවකදී (formal situation) පමණයි. එම නිසා no හි මෙම භාවිතය ශ්‍රී ලාංකික භාෂිත ඉංග්‍රීසියේ පිළිගත් අංගයක් (accepted form in Sri Lankan colloquial English) ලෙස සැලකිය හැකියි. කෙසේ නමුත් අඩු තරමිත් විදේශිකයන් සමග හා ලිඛිත බසේ භාවිතය සඳහා ජාත්‍යන්තර සමිමතයද (international standard ) දැන සීටීම අවශ්‍ය වෙනවා. එහිදී එකතු වන tag ‍කොටස අදාළ වාක්‍යයේ උක්තය (noun) සහ ක්‍රියා පදය (verb) අනුව වෙනස් විය යුතු බව මතක තබා ගත යුතුයි. එසේ නැතිව අපේ සමහරෙක් මෙන් සැම විටම isn’t it? කියා යෙදීම නොගැලපෙයි.This is correct, isn’t it?මේක හරි නේද?That car is Lal’s, isn’t it?අර කාරෙක ලාල්ගෙ නේද?Nimal is with you, isn’t he?නිමල් ඔයා එක්ක ඉන්නව නේද?Your parents are in Kandy, aren’t they?ඔයාගෙ අම්මයි, තාත්තයි නුවර නේද?Kamala loves music, doesn’t she?කමලා සංගීතයට ගොඩක් ආසයි නේද?These people live here, don’t they?මේ මිනිස්සු ඉන්නෙ මෙහෙ නේද?Your friend was here yesterday, wasn’t he?ඔයාගෙ යාළුව ඊයෙ මෙහෙ හිටිය නේද?All of them were very happy, weren’t they?ඒ අය ඔක්කොම හුඟක් සතුටු උනා නේද?Mahesh speaks English well, doesn’t he?මහේෂ් හොඳට ඉංග්‍රීසි කතා කරනව නේද?Both your children get good marks, don’t they?ඔයාගෙ ලමයි දෙන්නම හොඳ ලකුණු ගන්නව නේද?The baby is sleeping, isn’t he/she?බබා නිදි නේද?You are leaving now, aren’t you?ඔයා දැන් යනව/පිටත් වෙනව නේද?All the directors spoke yesterday, didn’t they?ඔක්කොම අධ්‍යක්ෂවරු ඊයෙ කතා කළා නේද?You have met my brother, haven’t you?ඔයාට මගෙ අයියව/මල්ලිව හම්බ වෙලා තියනව නේද?Most of your classmates will come tomorrow, won’t they?ඔයාගෙ පන්තියෙන් ගොඩක් අය හෙට එයි නේද?I am a good man, am I not? *මම හොඳ මිනිහෙක් නේද?*මේ ආකාරයට අනිත් tags ද සකස් කළ හැකියි.
