If not you should start from the bottom because there is lot to learn before competing for the parliament or presidency. Let me add to this,

Let's think you want to contest an election, you cannot do it on your own unless your are filthy rich. If you aren't they you need to get support from certain people. Then when you get elected you have to pay back these certain people. Regardless of how wrong their asks may be you need to entertain them. That is how everything gets interconnected. So end of the day it is very difficult to find politicians who don't have strings attached to them. Either a person or a group of people control them. The pressure can be excreted on them in different forms.

simple example of strings attached - Whos is campaigning to bring Basil to parliament? the back benches right? why is that? Because he is the one who brought them to parliament and probably funding them or funding the people who funded them. So do you think they will have a backbone to oppose it?

Yes, someone can start somewhere. But if you want to change the country it is a huge process that will take 40 50 years. We might not be alive to benefit from it. But we can start it now. You need start by changing attitudes of people, changing the education system, instilling proper love toward the country (not this boru deshapremaya) bla bla bla. then little by little people will change.

the problem with this guy is that he is looking for an instant change and trying to do it alone. I think he is getting carried away with the SM support. End of the day majority of people on SM are very gullible and fickle. You should never depend on them.
