Performance wise, maybe not for small hard drives. But feature wise and data security wise, NTFS is much more superior.

    You can, but convert.exe doesn't provide that feature. You have to use a third party software.

    But conversion is not recommended.

    If you reset the PC, NTFS will not result in lost clusters as FAT32 would.
    NTFS supports indexing which is a prime feature in Vista.
    NTFS is required for safety. Viruses can't modify the system files.

    It doesn't use the default settings when you convert. It uses 512k clusters, which will result in lower performance. (because hard disk now requires more seeks to read data)
