Salaries are not paid for your language.. whatever the language, if its in demand, you get paid..

Php has more jobs than python..but if you want to learn, go with php..most people say python because of its popularity..

Php has a good oop model..python's oop model sucks.. specially if you are totally new to programming..you will learn fundamentals well with php..

In sri lanka salary scale is comparatively low for php due to the high availability of php developers and most of them are very average low skilled ones..thats a reason why php market is looked down..python is mostly associated with data science related projects..

I suggest you to learn nodejs over python

Dont learn it to get jobs..and try to master whatever you choose..
