Im using a ASUS P5Q PRO MB with a Q6600 CPU.
got 2X1GB DDR2 1066Mhz Kingston RAM....
When i use a benchmark app(Everest ,CPUZ) it says that the RAM is PC2 6400.BUt it should be PC2 8500.(correct me if Im wrong)
i have changed the BIOS RAM Frequency to 1066 and its still the same...
PLs tell me Y?

I googled for it, and came across few forum threads where ppl have reported the same thing with that motherboard. Looks like a compatibility problem, check if there are any new BIOS updates for your board. And check this thread. Set the speed and voltage manually, then it should work.

Run some benchmarks and see if you can get the same RAM performance (throughput) as PC2-8500. If you can, then don't worry too much about how it is detected by the motherboard, that doesn't matter as long as you've got the performance.

Hi dear all I have a problem that yesterday i have lost data from around 20GB hard drive space . I dont know what happened but there is a folder " Newfolder" and it cannot be deleted. pls advice me

you are welcome . you cant remove the other thread now, only admins can.. Its ok just leave it. But don't make duplicate threads in the future .

P.S : Use Sisoft Sandra, PCMark or some other tool like that to benchmark RAM.

ok bro. as per the manual kingston hyperx 1066 not in QVL. (Qualified Vendors List) so that culd b the reason.
