One 500ml bottle of nano-urea can replace one 45kg bag of conventional urea. About 30% to 50% of conventional urea does not get absorbed and hence wasted. But a nano urea liquid particle is 30 nanometre and compared to the conventional granular urea it has about 10,000 times more surface area to volume size. Due to the ultra-small size and surface properties, the nano urea liquid gets absorbed by plants more effectively when sprayed on their leaves.

I did a couple of posts on this... Please search. The scientist behind this is Dr Ramesh Raliya who is also a son of an Indian farmer, but now works for the US DOE.
He currently holds 15 patents in nanotechnology, including for nano urea.
