Police have arrested over 15 persons claiming they were involved in drug  dealing,  but villagers say that they were arresting persons who were  involved in the protest overnight. The tension broke out after villagers stormed the Mattakkuliya police  post to protest in the manner a suspect had been taken into custody. But, police said that the protest started due to a misinformation after  the people  assumed that one of the suspects arrested had died in police  custody when he had only cut his hand by breaking a glass in the police  post. Early this morning in an apparent revenge attack some of the houses were  attacked by unidentified groups,  but villagers claim they were armed  forces personnel.  More troops and police have been moved into the area now.ST</blockquote>
