Our correspondent Anura Medagedera reporting from London said a serious crisis had surfaced in the London LTTE network with publicity given in pro LTTE websites in the city. The LTTE website in London said that Prabhakaran who was at the X’Ray base when it was raided, was injured and one of his limbs amputated, as he was suffering from acute diabetes. The LTTE supporters in London announced this morning that he has also lost the military leadership. The anti-LTTE groups in London claimed that the tigers are in a deep crisis as Intelligence Chief Pottu Amman has acquired all powers of the leader. As the LTTE leader is confined to a camp, he has been unable to come forward and arrange military actions. Reports said a serious crisis has surfaced only between Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman, but also among other leaders. LTTE sympathisers in London are attempting to avert a split in the outfit.
In the meantime, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Roshan Goonetilleke joining in ITN’s Thulawa programme confirmed that the LTTE leader suffered serious injuries during the air raids carried out following ground and air surveillance.
