There is this rumours going around that Prabhakaran's dead body was found after a gun battle. The announcement of this news is delayed because the president is out of the country. It's also said that tomorrow 5pm president will address the nation and let the news out, for this there is a news room being built in Rupavahini Co. and ITN.

while I don't know myself whether this is true, we can wait till 5pm tomorrow and see. if everything happens as I said, I will ask for a promotion :P

    Prabhakaran Captured??
An unconfirmed report says Prabhakaran is captured by the Government forces at early hours today 16th May. Government is waiting for the President to return from Jordan and address the nation. Government sources said a final announcement of the rebel's defeat was due to be made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is currently on a visit to Jordan and was due back in Sri Lanka Sunday morning. However it is not clear whether Prabhakaran is
dead or alive. The ground commanders are awaiting final orders from the Military top brass (led by Commander in Chief Maithripala Sirisena) in Colombo to handle the situation as numerous appeals have been made to the international diplomts by the LTTE asking for amnesty to its leader. A surrender to the SLA with the knowledge of IC taking part in surrender process was on the cards as this would have guaranteed a safe arrest to the LTTE leader. Meanwhile Explosions continue to occur in the nearby areas. The LTTE top leaders including VP have dispatched all their kith and kins to the Army held area with forged identities. The army is now in the process of identifying them. Soosei earlier reported to have literally handed-over his family to the Navy (but reported as captured by the Navy). Two self-appointed LTTE Colonels, middle range leaders and regional level leaders have been surrendered to SLA . The self proclaimed "Government Doctor" has also turned himself in to the forces of the 58th division. (The LankaWeb - 16/05/09)
